Shelf strips: Using smaller knitting needles from the right side, pick up 64 (72, 78, 84, 90) stitches evenly along the right front, pick up 94 (94, 102, 106, 118) stitches evenly along the hood and 64 (72, 78, 84, 90) stitches evenly along the left shelf = 222 (238, 258, 274, 298) loops.
Track. row (front side): k2, *p2, k2, repeat from *
Track. Row (wrong side): P2, *K2, P2, repeat from *.

Only for size 3 months:
Track. row (front side): k2, *yo, p2 together, (k2, p2) – 2 times, yarn over, k2tog. to the right, (K2, P2) – 2 times, repeat from * once, yarn over, P2 together, (K2, P2) – 2 times, knit in pattern until end of row = 5 holes for buttons.

For sizes 6 and 12 months only:
Track. row (front side): k2, *yo, p2 together, (k2, p2) – 2 times, yarn over, k2tog. to the right, (K2, P2) – 2 times, repeat from * twice, knit in pattern to end of row = 6 button holes.

For sizes 18 and 24 months only:
Track. row (front side): k2, p2, k2, *yo, p2 together, (k2, p2) – 2 times, k2 .., repeat from * 5 times, knit into the pattern to the end of the row = 6 button holes.

For all sizes: rib knit 4 more rows.
close the loops with an elastic band.

Final works: Sew the loops from the sleeve pin together with the loops from the base pin under the first and second armholes.
Hide all ends.
Sew buttons.

Yarn (100% sheep wool; approx. 185 m/50 g) - approx. 100 g blue; knitting needles No. 2,5 and 3; circular knitting needles No. 2.5 and 3, 60 cm long; set of double needles No. 3; 4 white buttons in the shape of sheep.

Patterns and schemes

Rubber

Alternately 1 knit, 1 purl.

Facial surface

Front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops.

"Tulip braid" pattern

Knit according to the pattern for 8 sts. Distribute the loops according to the instructions. Repeat rows 1–4 constantly.

Button hole on placket

2 stitches in garter stitch, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left (= slip 1 loop as in knitting, knit 1, pull the slipped loop through it), 1 yarn over, 1 loop in garter stitch.

Decorative reductions

Right edge: edge, knit 1, knit 2 stitches together;
left edge: knit 2 knit stitches together with a slant to the left (= 1 knit loop, as in knitting, 1 knit stitch, pull the removed loop through it), 1 knit stitch, edge stitch.

Knitting density

24 p. x 33 r. = 10 x 10 cm, knitted with stockinette stitch;
8 stitches of the “Tulip Braid” pattern = approx. 2 cm wide, knitted with needles No. 3.

Important!

Start knitting the model from the hood and then knit in a single fabric with raglan bevels from top to bottom. The arrow in the diagram indicates the direction of knitting.

Getting the job done

On knitting needles No. 3, cast on 10 stitches and distribute them as follows: chrome, 8 sts of the “Tulip Braid” pattern, chrome.

After 14 (16) cm = 46 (54) r. Temporarily leave 10 sts from the initial row and cast on 43 (46) sts on both sides of the “braid” along the edge edge = 96 (102) sts.

Distribute the stitches on stocking needles and knit in stockinette stitch on the cast-on stitches.

Then switch to circular needles No. 3.

After approx. 15 (16) cm = 50 (54) rub. from the set of loops, mark raglan lines by 2 sts on each side: 15 (16) sts of the left front, 2 sts of raglan, 15 (16) sts of the left sleeve, 2 sts of raglan, 28 (30) sts of the back, 2 p. raglan, 15 (16) p. right sleeve, 2 p. raglan, 15 (16) p. right front.

Knit the first and last 5 stitches for the fastener bar in garter stitch, distribute the other stitches as indicated above.

At the same time, for raglan bevels from the next 2nd row. perform 16 (18) x 1 yarn over on both sides of the raglan loop = 8 added stitches in a row = 224 (246) stitches.

At the same time, on the right front panel in the 5th row = purl row from the beginning of the raglan bevels, make the 1st button hole as follows: 2 stitches in garter stitch, knit 2 stitches together with a slant to the left (= remove 1 stitch, as in stockinette knitting, knit 1, pull the slipped stitch through it), 1 yarn over, 1 stitch in garter stitch.

Make 3 more holes for buttons at intervals of 24 (26) r. After 10 (11) cm = 32 (36) r. from the beginning of the raglan bevels, temporarily leave 49 (54) stitches of sleeves between the back and the shelves and continue knitting the fronts and back on the remaining 126 (138) stitches, maintaining the distribution of patterns.

After 12 (15) cm = 40 (50) r. From the beginning of the sleeve, switch to circular knitting needles No. 2.5 and knit with an elastic band for the bottom strap, while continuing to knit the fastener strips in garter stitch.

After 2.5 cm = 8 r. Hem the edge of the elastic band.
