Important!

In the transverse direction, natural leather stretches much stronger than in the longitudinal direction. All pieces must be cut in the same direction.

• A sketch of a leather necklace should be created first on paper. The material is quite delicate, so it is not advisable to chop the workpieces with pins.
• To give the product shape and volume, there is a little trick: just heat the individual parts in a frying pan.

The algorithm is as follows:

• On paper we draw a sketch, which consists of three main parts. You can choose a classic, strict shape or make it more curly.
• We transfer the template to the leather, trace the pattern on the wrong side of the canvas, and cut out the blank. Separately, we cut out flowers from the leather with which we will decorate the product.
• We paste transfer tape along the edge. Since the material is very delicate, basting is not advisable. Using tape, we glue all the parts, form the bend and stand of the collar.
• When the leather necklace blank has dried, you can begin decorating. The edges of each flower need to be scorched with fire to give volume. Sew a bead or seed beads into the middle of each flower. We glue all the elements onto the workpiece.
• Using a hole punch, we make holes at the ends into which we insert a metal button, this will be the clasp of the accessory.

• Let's take pieces of old leather for work. The most flexible material is soft kid leather from old gloves, bags or jackets. The tools you will need are a glue gun, pattern paper and a pencil, as well as acrylic paints in silver, gold or bronze.
• Draw a product template on cardboard. You need to cut out one small trefoil and two large five-leaf clover. This set of blanks is necessary for one flower. Separately cut out several leaves. We transfer the pattern to the skin and cut out the details.

Advice!

Floral motifs are traditionally used for necklaces, brooches or beads made of leather. The texture of delicate veins of flowers or leaves can be created with a heated kitchen knife, applying the design with the blunt side.

We suggest creating a luxurious leather necklace with your own hands, using beads and sparkling beads on the theme of autumn. To work you will need several scraps of yellow, burgundy and beige leather, glue, paint and cardboard.

The step-by-step algorithm is as follows:

• We draw a sketch of the decoration on paper, noting all the decorative details. We cut out a blank from cardboard on which we will create.
• We cut several flaps into thin strips, this will be field grass.
• To make spikelets, take a thin wire, wrap it in light tissue paper, and glue a piece of golden fleecy suede on top. We also glue the spikelets to the base.
• Separately, we make several small flower buds from leather. We weave a sprig of juicy berries from beads and wire.
• We cut out autumn foliage from orange and green leather, processing each leaf with a hot knife to create veins. If you don’t have colored leather on hand, you can paint the leaves with acrylic paints in the desired shade.

DIY leather necklace with leaves

Leather is an amazing material! Lively at hand, easy to paint, cut, glue. It is pleasant and interesting to work with her. It is expensive on sale, but every home has leather. Old jackets, bags, boots... A good housewife will always find a use for it, because you can make so many different things out of it! See what you can create from pieces of leather using the example of a small evening jewelry set.

For this you will need Xia:

Pieces of leather
PVA glue
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Acrylic metallic paint
Tweezers (for small parts)

Pattern paper, pen
Plastic bottle of silicone construction adhesive

Getting started.
Pick up pieces of leather and make flower patterns on paper, as shown in the photo.

All of them have five leaves, only the last one has three leaves. The fourth leaf can be five-leaf or three-leaf, as you like. Three-leaved can be used as a bud or small flower.
Place the patterns on the skin from the suede side, trace them with a pen, this will show how many flowers a piece of leather will be enough for.

It is convenient to cut flowers by cutting the leather into pieces according to the design, or you can use a pattern. You just need to secure the pattern with a pin so that it does not move.

For this kit you need to cut:
Sheet 2 – 1 pc.
Sheet 3 – 2 pcs.
Sheet 4 (five-leaf) – 5 pcs.
Sheet 4 (three-leaf) – 4 pcs.
Leaf – 1 pc.
Bud – 2 pcs.

Place the frying pan over medium heat. It's better to use our old frying pans. Place the finished flower details on it.

They will warm up and begin to rise and become rounded; press the center of the flower with a knife. When they reduce in size, they should be immediately removed from the pan.

After frying, the leaf will also curl up a little; now you can apply veins to it with the hot blunt end of a knife. Your parts are ready, distribute them to make assembly easier.

Painting.
It is better to paint with metallic acrylic paint not with a brush, but with a sponge, lightly touching the skin. There are three paint colors in the photo: gold, bronze, turquoise. First, apply gold on the back and front sides, then bronze in places, and turquoise on the leaf. The paint dries quickly, the metallic gives freshness and shine. What gives the product an evening elegant look.

Bracelet base.
While the parts are drying, prepare the base for the bracelet. A thick plastic bottle of silicate construction adhesive works well for the base. It does not bend and sits tightly on the hand. Using a knife, cut the bottle to the width you need, divide the resulting ring as shown in the photo.

Now you need to cover the base with leather. The width of the strip of leather for covering the base of the bracelet must be calculated so that a piece of the strip can cover the base from the outside and inside. Thickly coat the suede side with PVA glue and carefully tighten the base of the bracelet. To make the leather lay down easily, you can wipe the front side with a wet napkin. Let the glue dry, then paint it the same way as the flowers.

Collection of flowers.
You need to collect flowers one by one (2,3,4, stamens), glue the centers of honey together with hot glue. Roll the stamens (in the photo these are short strips of 3-5 cm with cuts) into a tight circle, glue the ends, fluff them up and glue them into the middle of the last upper flower.

And so on all flowers. Glue buds and a small flower onto the branches. Glue the leaf first, then the twigs and flagellum, then the flowers. Your bracelet is ready.
Clips. They are collected from flower leaves 3,4 and stamens. Glue the nails for the clips on the wrong side with hot glue.
Ring. Prepare a strip the size of your finger, 0.5-1 cm wide, and glue it into a circle. Glue the leaves and the finished assembled flower onto the glued place, like on clips.

Step-by-step technique for making leather necklaces

On a sheet of cardboard, draw the outlines of feathers of various lengths - from 5 to 7 centimeters. The shape may vary slightly, no need to make all the elements the same.

Use scissors to cut out cardboard templates.

Using a ballpoint pen, trace the outlines of the feathers using the templates onto the black piece.

Cut out eleven pieces. For the necklace you will only need ten leather feathers. Use the remaining ones to try further manipulations.

Using scissors or a utility knife, make cuts around the perimeter of each piece. Try to keep the ends of the fringe thin. If necessary, cut off excess corners.

Similarly, cut out three feathers from light brown material, but no more than 3-4 centimeters long. Make cuts on each piece.

Use a single hole punch to make a hole in each piece.

Use a pair of pliers to straighten the piece of wire. If you don't know how to use this tool, just grab the edges of the wire firmly and pull it forcefully several times along any hard edge, such as a table.

Cut a long strip of one and a half centimeters wide from thin black leather. From a short but wide enough piece you will make a long strip, cutting in a round or oval spiral.

Wrap the metal insulated wire with a leather strip in a spiral, gradually applying transparent all-purpose "Dragon" glue to the reverse side. Secure the ends with clothespins until the glue dries completely. This will be the base for the necklace.

From the remaining thin skin, cut strips 13-15 centimeters long and 2-3 millimeters wide.

Apply fire to the perimeter of the leather feathers by holding the lighter from the front side. Don't forget about safety precautions! This will cause the fringe to curl up a bit naturally.

Now assemble the necklace by simply tying the feathers with leather strips to the wire base. Attach several pieces together. Maintain symmetry. Do not cut off the ends of thin strips; they will add a little volume and slight negligence.

The base of the necklace holds its shape perfectly, so you don’t have to make a clasp.

In this master class we will show you how to make an interesting and unusual decoration with your own hands. A little imagination, available materials - the result will please you.

I have some pebbles lying around. The most common pellets, of which there are plenty if you look hard enough.

This is a sketch. Then I made three blanks from cardboard, placed pieces of leather on glue and cut them like this (see below).

Here are three things (I took loose cardboard from a child’s coloring book. And next to it is a piece of my husband’s jacket made of faux suede (this is for the inside).

In addition to the main parts, I made leather strips. It's not difficult. Strips of leather (5-7 mm) are cut off, glued in half, trimmed and tied (or not tied) in knots. I wrote hieroglyphs for the stones using a stained glass outline. On a triangular one the meaning is eternity (infinity), on an elongated one - Woman.

Start of assembly. I glue pebbles and decorate them with glued cord and pyrite beads.

Here you can see that in addition to beads and lace, I draw all sorts of curls from the black outline. By the way, the third blank (as per the sketch) did not fit into the necklace. It will then become a component of the bracelet.

I collected the necklace. Everything is visible here. The inside of the necklace was covered with artificial suede, with the nap facing outwards.

Closer...

I used a dry brush technique with silver enamel on curls and bulges (including WOMAN and ETERNITY). Finally, I coated everything with varnish (including the stones).

Leather jewelry is now very popular and designers like to work with such material. Girls often make such jewelry with their own hands. Working with leather is really nice: easy to cut and model.

Material combination options

Leather jewelry can be complemented with other natural materials. This way you will create a coherent and interesting composition. Basic examples of a successful combination:

• Leather and fur products. You have often noticed such a juxtaposition of materials in clothing, and now this is also possible in jewelry. This combination is suitable for making elastic bands and headbands, extravagant earrings and necklaces.

• Leather and fabric products. Leather laces and fabric strips are used to create interesting friendship bracelets, neck and hair jewelry.

It is extremely easy to distinguish high-quality material from other waste. Basic rules:

• Read the inscription on the label. You shouldn’t believe what’s written for sure, but it’s the first step.
• A suspiciously low price indicates that the quality of the leather is much lower than stated.
• The skin always has a noticeable weight. And the substitute can be lighter than fabric.
• The smell of leather is significantly different from a fake. The latter reeks of chemicals and vinyl.
• High-quality material always has a rough surface on both sides. Leatherette, as a rule, has a sliding surface and a fabric lining.
• The plasticity of real leather differs from non-natural material. In the first case, the color at the bend will change, but no trace will remain. In the case of a substitute, everything is completely opposite.
• Genuine leather absorbs water; dermantin does not have this ability. Run a wet finger over the material and evaluate the result.
• If possible, test the material with fire. Genuine leather will not catch fire from a match, but fake leather will flare up and begin to emit an extremely unpleasant odor.

DIY making

Curls

Making curls from leather is used to create earrings, pendants, decor for bracelets, headbands and hair ties. Such products can be used as a separate accessory or decorative addition. Required materials:

• pieces of soft leather up to 1 mm thick;
• PVA construction adhesive Moment;
• plexiglass or plastic as a working surface.

Manufacturing:

1. Long shreds need to be twisted into bundles. Apply glue in a neat strip or dots close to the cut and distribute it using an awl. We fold the strip by about 0.5 cm and press it with a soft cloth for better gluing and removal of excess glue. We push through the entire length and cut with sharp scissors. The tourniquet is ready!
2. We perform the first stage as many times as necessary to obtain the required number of strands.
3. We wrap a tourniquet (or several) with a small piece of evidence and drip glue into the middle. Now you need to press the workpiece against the plexiglass and wait until the glue sets.
4. Further twisting is carried out on the surface. To do this, make a strip of glue around the workpiece. At the moment of the turn, grab the glue with a cut. This way the material will be fixed to each other, and there will be no contamination from the glue on the outside.
5. Wrapping can be done with one tourniquet or several (up to 3). If the streak is over, then it needs to be increased. To do this, lubricate the side of the tourniquet with glue and hold it there for a while.
6. Leave the product overnight so that the skin sticks well. The next day, we separate the workpiece from the work surface using a ruler or something similar.
7. Turn the product over with the wrong side and drip glue into the central part. Distribute it over the entire surface and leave for another day.
8. Decorate the back like this: glue a solid piece of leather of the required size to the back.

Further manipulations depend on the type of decoration. If you have created a pendant, now glue a loop between the curl and the back. If it is a brooch, secure it with a pin.
