Step-by-step master class

We'll walk you through the basic techniques for creating the brick stitch that you can see in this pattern. This will help you weave a beaded pendant for beginners without any problems.

Step 1: Weave the first row

Take the beading thread and thread it on both sides through thin beading needles.

Download and print the owl diagram below if you haven't already.

Beaded owl pattern

Start weaving from the bottom! In accordance with the diagram, thread the first bead onto the needle. Immediately thread a second needle through the same bead and pull the threads up tightly.

Repeat this step for the other 5 beads in the first row.

Step 2: Zoom in

  • To build the second row you need to increase the weave by one ball at the beginning of the row. This is done by stringing the first 2 beads on the previous row together.
  • Then pass the needle under the fishing line between the first and second beads of the previous row.
  • Pull the thread tightly and the beads should sit nicely in their place.

Step 3: Do a regular stitch

Insert a new bead into the needle and thread the needle under the fishing line between the two beads from the previous row located directly under the bead.

Pull the line out completely.

Repeat until you reach the end of the row.

Step 4: Add Beads at the End of the Row

Add the last bead to the fishing line.

Go over the last bead of the previous row and again through the last bead added.

The bead should snap into place, creating an increase at the end of the row.

Step 5: Make the reduction at the end

  • Pull the thread completely out and go through the second bead of the new row.

Repeat increasing the row until you reach the part where you should start weaving the next row.

Step 5: Make a Reduction

  • Add the first 2 beads of the row to the fishing line in accordance with the diagram.
  • Then pass the needle under the thread between the second and third beads of the previous row.
  • Pull the thread completely out and go through the second bead of the new row.
  • Pull the line. The first stitch may not quite correctly determine the position of the bead, so continue weaving further.
  • Then make regular stitches until you reach the end of the row. No special technique to decrease at the end of the row, just go through the last bead, pull the thread and start a new row.

Step 7: Make the first ear

To weave the first ear, make a decrease at the beginning of the row and add another bead.

Go back to the first bead as shown below.

Add another bead, pass the needle between the first and second beads of the previous row, pass through the added bead and pull the line taut.

Step 8: Make the Second Ear

  • Pass the needle along the beads to the area where the second ear is built.
  • Add 3 beads exactly the same way you did the first ear.
  • Add the last bead, pass the needle between the last and penultimate beads of the previous row, pass through this bead and pull the line taut.

Basically, your owl is done. All you have to do is hide the threads; to do this, run a needle and fishing line along the beads of the weaving, cut the thread and hide it.

Step 9: Add a Chain

Our beaded pendant for beginners is almost ready. Cut the chain into 2 equal parts.

Open one of the jump rings and insert it into one of the beads on the top of the owl. Add the last link from half the chain here and close the ring.

Repeat on the other side.

Now you can find many detailed descriptions for beginners on how to create various things with your own hands. What craftsmen don’t create at home. Almost all things can now be done by yourself. Skilled craftswomen create dresses, various blouses, blouses and other clothing items for themselves.

Of course, they didn’t ignore decorations either. You can make any jewelry items yourself at home. Now girls make various bracelets, beads, pendants, earrings and other things. To create them they use various materials.

Pendants for Beginners

Beautiful pendants are a household item for many women. They look great with a variety of styles and make many stand out from the crowd. How to make bead pendants with your own hands? This is a question every newbie asks. This is not surprising, because sometimes it is quite painstaking work and requires a lot of patience.

The best way to start making pendants is by preparing the materials for their manufacture. First of all, to create pendants from beads, we need to stock up on them in plenty. You need to purchase beads of certain colors in advance. What colors will be up to you to decide for yourself.

You will also need to stock up on thread with a small needle, a small piece of fabric, and you can also take fishing line. Many ideas and instructions for making beaded pendants may require additional materials. They can be various beads or other large artificial decorations.

After preparing the materials, you will need to decide on a sketch of your future pendant. You need to determine exactly how it will look, what will be in the center of the compositions. Now you can find a lot of different ready-made sketches for pendants.

Beaded bird pendant

To make it, you should immediately find a ready-made sketch. We will need it in the beading process. From the photo of the beaded pendant you can immediately see what our finished product will be like. Now you can start making it directly.

To begin with, take a thread one meter long and put needles on each edge. It is best to start weaving immediately with the longest row. There are several advantages to this. Firstly, we will immediately indicate the size of our future bird. Secondly, subsequent rows will become smaller and require less expenditure.

In our first row we should have a total of 22 beads. Each time they must be crossed in different directions to give the product its shape.

Next we need to make a second row, similar to the first, but with some nuance. Each bead of subsequent rows will need to be connected to the previous one. That is, we take a bead and fasten it between the first and second, the next, between the second and third, and so on until the end of the row.

In the end you will also need to not compare the edges of the second edge with the first. As a result, in the second row you should already have 20 beads.

In one of the rows we will need to make an increase. Following the previously prepared sketch, we continue to weave our pendant. Following a similar principle, it is necessary to weave the second half of the product.

Finally, you will need to attach the chain to the pendant. To do this, you can use a ready-made chain, which will need to be secured to the pendant. That's it, our product is completely ready.

Spectacular pendant

As you can see, this pendant is suitable for different occasions. You can wear it to girls on a date, and without a doubt, your boyfriend will immediately pay attention to it.

On the Internet you can find many master classes on bead pendants. You can also learn about more complex versions of such pendants. Of course, many of them require a sufficient amount of time to collect them. Yes, and you will need to have enough patience, because this work requires maximum effort on your part.

Now no one should have any unnecessary questions. Each of us was able to figure out how to learn how to make pendants ourselves. Perhaps many will refuse this activity, since it will all seem quite complicated to them. But in reality it’s simple, you just have to try it and you can see for yourself.

Photos of bead pendants

Beading pendants is a fast and fun process, especially if you use our weaving patterns;)

Making such a product is accessible to everyone, regardless of skill level, so even novice craftsmen can easily master patterns and master classes for weaving pendants from beads. By collecting several beads on a colored wire, and then bending it into any geometric shape, you will get a simple pendant. Such a bright accessory, suspended on a leather rope, is perfect for the “casual” style.

Weaving techniques

How to make more complex pendants from beads? Having mastered the technique of weaving a voluminous cord, you can create a real masterpiece. The beaded cord bends easily and takes any shape. You can, for example, make a flower out of such a cord, as children draw it. The use of metallized beads will add complexity and depth to such a pendant.

Using the tight weaving technique - monastic, Ndebele, herringbone, you can weave a flat pendant with a pattern. It will only take one evening to make such a decoration, but the one to whom you give it will get so much pleasure, try it, you won’t regret it!

Using beads, you can even turn a cabochon, a large natural stone, into a pendant. If it is not possible to purchase natural one, then it can be replaced with artificial one. You will find the secrets of this particular pendant in the master class presented on our website. In a similar way, you can braid not only stones, but also large beads, from which you can then assemble a kind of pendant. Beads braided with beads of contrasting color will look beautiful.

Some craftswomen use bead embroidery techniques to make pendants. Using canvas and beads, you can create flat pendants of absolutely any shape - a heart, a flower, an abstract figure. It is enough to attach a metal loop to such a figurine, and the simple embroidery turns into an original pendant that will be an excellent gift.

Beadwork nowadays is one of the most popular handicrafts along with embroidery and knitting. Weaving with beads allows you to make with your own hands a huge number of different decorations for the home, as well as all kinds of accessories and jewelry. A variety of wicker flowers and trees, handbags and beads, bracelets and brooches - this is not a complete list of beaded products. We will devote this lesson to making pendants and pendants woven from beads.

DIY bead pendant

The first master class is equipped with appropriate photos that will make it easier for you to perceive the material, and the weaving patterns for such a pendant are not at all complicated and you can easily repeat the weaving of such a decoration yourself.
First, let's list the necessary materials for work:

  • 12 large pearl beads;
  • 6 faceted beads;
  • 12 bicones;
  • 5 grams of beads;
  • bead needle;
  • fishing line or beaded thread.

And now we begin to figure out exactly how to weave pendants from beads. We will try to present the information in a way that is accessible to everyone, even beginners. We begin our weaving by stringing six bicones onto a fishing line and tying its ends, forming a ring from them.

The pattern further requires a loop of three pearl beads near each bicone. We thread a fishing line into each one, and put three beads on this fishing line. As a result, above each bicone we have a loop of these three pearls. You need to continue until all 12 pearls are gone. After this, you need to add one faceted bead in the spaces between the pearls, which protrude most from the pendant, being at the peak of the loop. We pass the fishing line through these pearls, stringing faceted beads between these peaks.

The weaving pattern is almost complete. All that remains is to embroider
which we have prepared. This can be done the way you like, maintaining symmetry.

Finally, all you need to do is attach the metal connecting ring and hang your pendant on the chain. If you wish, add a bicone, a pearl and a long faceted bead to the pendant, which will act as a pendant. This pendant will give the pendant inimitable beauty.

Large pendant made of beads, beads and crystals

The second master class is equipped with a video and will tell you how to make a beautiful pendant from beads and seed beads with your own hands, for which you need to have:

  • beads of copper and silver colors;
  • beads 10 mm;
  • Swarovski crystals 4x6mm and 14mm;
  • fishing line;
  • a needle;
  • scissors.

To complete the master class, there is a step-by-step diagram that must be strictly followed. In the video tutorial you can see in detail all the details of weaving.
We string 28 copper-colored beads onto a fishing line and close a ring from them, threading the thread through the last bead in reverse. Then we string another one and pass through the bead of the ring to secure the thread. We continue to string, then passing the thread through the next bead of the ring. We perform such actions until the end of the ring.

When the first row is woven, we take the needle from the last bead to the next row, and begin to weave with silver color. We continue weaving and weave two more rows.

Then we return to the first row of our weaving and continue working with beads of the color with which we weaved it, that is, we change the color to copper. We put five beads on the fishing line, insert the needle into one bead of the first row, counting four more, insert the fishing line into the fifth bead of the first row. This is how a beaded arc is formed. This is how we braid the entire first row with beaded arcs.

The next row is formed by adding one bead along the entire circumference of the arcs to the middle bead of the arc, giving the arc a sharper appearance. After this, you need to insert a large 14 mm crystal into the middle of the resulting figure, tightening the outer row with fishing line and fixing the crystal inside. For strength, you can add another row along the edge.

Continuing beading, we bring the needle to the row from which we started weaving, and weave another row along the edge. The next operation is that we add a large bead and one silver bead to the edge of the weave. You need to string 7 beads around the circumference, hooking them to the protruding beads.

At the end, we take the fishing line to the left side of the large bead. We collect three copper beads and seven silver ones, and pass the fishing line into the silver one, located above the large bead.

Then we make a set of 7 silver and three copper beads, and draw a line to the right and below the bead. Our bead turned out to be braided with beads of two colors, like in a halo. Now we move the fishing line to the next bead, passing the needle into the bead to the left of this bead. We braid the second bead with copper and silver beads in the same way as we did in the first case. You need to do the same with all the beads, braiding them.

Now we’ll string one silver bead, a bead, and another bead onto the fishing line. We will secure this set in the gap between the large beads, forming another row. After this, we string one bead, a crystal and another silver bead, and pass the thread into the last row, securing them in between.

Next we make a loop on which our pendant will hang. To do this, we collect 12 beads and secure them with fishing line above the last row. Our pendant is ready, and now all that remains is to attach it to the chain.

Shiny Shambhala beads with rhinestones are most often used for weaving bracelets. Few people know that with such beads you can create elegant pendants and earrings. This master class shows how to quickly and easily weave a cute flower-shaped pendant using a Shambhala bead.

Tools and materials that will be needed when working on the Shambhala Flower pendant:

— black beads with a diameter of 8 mm - 6 pieces;
— gray Shambhala bead with rhinestones - 1 piece (diameter 10 mm);
- silver Czech beads - 5 g;
— chain with a small link - 45 cm; with a large link - 10 cm;
— jewelry bail (a ring into which a chain is threaded);
— jewelry connectors - rings;
- carabiner clasp;
- needle with fishing line;
— round nose pliers and pliers for mounting fittings.

You don’t have to work on decorating the chain if you plan to hang the finished pendant on a black cord or on a finished chain.

The procedure for working on the “Shambhala Flower” decoration.

1. Place 6 beads on the fishing line.

2. Close the beads into a ring.

3. Weave silver beads in a circle between the beads.

4. Weave a “Shambhala” bead into the center of the pendant. The thread progress is shown in red.

5. Disguise the fastening thread of the central bead with silver beads - 4 on each side.

6. Braid the flower in a circle. One “petal” - 10 beads. The red dot indicates the support bead from point 3.

7. The braid does not hold its shape, so it is necessary to secure it with another circle. We pass the outer beads with fishing line, as shown in the photo. Additional elements - the “corners” of the petals - are indicated in green.

8. Attach bail. It is better to go through an additional circle of fishing line again in order to more securely fix the fittings.

9. Using pliers and round nose pliers, loosen the jewelry rings. Attach the carabiner.

10. Attach a section of chain with a wide link to the opposite end of the chain with a narrow link. This creates an extension cord. The carabiner can be fastened using any link in the chain.

11. The elegant “Shambhala Flower” pendant is ready. The bead weaving master class is over. This decoration will complement both a casual outfit and an evening dress. To complement the pendant, you can create earrings and a bracelet in a similar style.

The final look of the craft.
